Kids Tinkering Studio
The Kids Tinkering Studio connects kids ages 4 to 11 years old to the possibilities and power of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM here in Trinidad and Tobago.
What do you do when you find that your 8-year-old has taken his new video game apart? Or, when your 4-year-old would rather play with boxes over the new tea set you bought for her? What can be done when your child is set on dismantling everything in sight?
We have created the the Kids Tinkering Studio as an Innovation and Maker Space that gives kids an opportunity to challenge their creativity through exploring those possibilities.
When you allow a child to take something apart, it captures their interest with feelings of confidence and motivation. Tinkering for many children fuels their natural curiosity about life. Tinkering during play can teach children valuable lessons by helping develop fine motor skills, problem solving abilities, and peer relationships.
Our focus is on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), hosting Saturday sessions and Maker workshops for school groups.
Through Tinkering, we explore the surroundings, materials and concepts that will lead to the next great innovation.
